On Saturday in Chennai, actor RS Shivaji, who was well-known for his roles in both the Tamil and Telegu cinema industries, passed suddenly at 66. A post on his Facebook page confirmed his sudden death. Cardiac arrest is the reason that took him away.

RS Shivaji was well-known for his work with Kamal Haasan and the latter’s production company, Raaj Kamal Production House. In the blockbuster movie ‘Vikram’ from 2022, he last appeared alongside Kamal. Recently, Shivaji appeared in the movie ‘Lucky Man’ on television, among other popular portrayals.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the sad news. He wrote, “Popular Tamil Character/Comedy Actor #RSShivaji passed away in Chennai this morning..He acted in this Friday release #LuckyMan and has done several memorable roles including #ApoorvaSagodharargal etc May his soul RIP!”

Son of actor-producer MR Santhanam, RS Shivaji. In the four decades since his cinematic debut in the 1980s, he has produced several blockbuster pictures. He appeared in various films and was well-known for his friendship with Kamal Haasan. RS was a part of several blockbuster films, including ‘Vikram’, ‘Apoorva Sagodharargal’, ‘Gargi’, ‘Soorarai Pottru’, ‘Sathya’, ‘Chachi 420, and ‘Michale Madana Kama Rajan, amongst others.

Subsequently, he made his Telugu film debut in Jagadekaveeru Athiloka Sundari, starring Chiranjeevi. RS Shivaji portrayed a constable in the movie. In addition to this, Teja’s 1000 Abaddalu featured him as well. Sai Pallavi’s Gargi and Vattakara are his most recent two releases.
