Making her OTT debut, Kajol will be seen in an upcoming web series titled The Trial – Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha at Disney+ Hotstar. The makers threw its trailer today and it looks promising.Watch it here:Kajol plays Noyonika Sengupta in the web series. She is seen as a housewife initially who is forced to return to work as a lawyer after her husband is jailed following a public scandal. Jisshu Sengupta plays her husband who is put behind bars for allegedly accepting sexual favours as bribes to alter verdicts. Kajol is also seen slapping him hard after knowing this. She is then forced to return to the courtroom and works as a junior lawyer. At work too, she is being judged. Slowly, the story is weaved around all the characters and take us through the final act – to fight or not to fight for her husband.Meanwhile, the series is directed by Suparn Verma and is an Indian adaptation of the American series, The Good Wife featuring Julianna Margulies in the lead role.
