The Kerala Story director Sudipto Sen to direct Subrata Roy’s biopic

It would not be an exaggeration to state that The Kerala Story has been the most talked-about film of the year so far. Director of the film Sudipto Sen is now all set to bring Subrata Roy’s life on screen. Sen will be directing ‘Saharasri’ on the life of business tycoon.

 Marking 75 years of Subrata Roy’s life on June 10, 2023, Sandeep Singh and Jayantilal Gada, makers of the film made this announcement on social media. Being a biopic, the movie is expected to throw a light on Roy’s journey of becoming ‘Saharashree’.

Touted musician AR Rahman and eminent writer Gulzar have been roped in for the respective arts in the film. However, this is still not clear as to who will be playing the role of Subrata Roy in the film.

As per media reports, the film is likely to be shot extensively across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Kolkata and London.
