Teaser out: Vivek Agnihotri announces ‘The Vaccine War’ release

‘The Vaccine War’, India’s first bio-science film, from the National Award-winning director Vivek Agnihotri has announce its release date. The director of ‘The Kashmir Files’ has announced the film in November 2022, last year.

Marking the 77th Independence Day, Vivek shared the film’s teaser. The brief clip gave a glimpse of the activities of scientists involved with the BBV152 vaccine, also known as Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech in partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research – National Institute of Virology.

Earlier, it was speculated that the release of the movie has been shifted from August 15 to October 24 this year. But now, taking it to Twitter, the director of the film, along with the teaser has announced the release date which is September 28. Agnihotri captioned it, “DATE ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear friends, your film #TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory will release worldwide on the auspicious day of 28th September 2023. Please bless us.” The film features Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Raima Sen and Pallavi Joshi, among others.

Before tweeting the date, the director shared the message to suggest the release date for ‘The Vaccine War’.

On August 13, Vivek had tweeted, “Finally, The Vaccine War is complete. It’s India’s first bio-science film. Now wondering when to release?”

Although the teaser and the director has not revealed much about the movie, but the teaser shows that the movie is dedicated to the medical fraternity and scientists included in uncertain times of Covid -19.
