Veteran actor Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share the first look of the upcoming film ‘Dono’, which will mark the Bollywood debut of his son Rajveer.
The ‘Gadar 2’ star uploaded the film’s poster on Instagram, captioning it, “It’s the start of a new beginning! Dono, TEASER OUT TOMORROW! Directed by Avnish Barjatya, Starring Rajveer Deol & Paloma Dhillon.”
The film will also mark the directorial debut of Avnish Barjatya, who is the son of Sooraj Barjatya. Sooraj is the director of Rajshri Productions, which is producing ‘Dono’.
Rajveer will star in the romantic movie opposite actress Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma.
In the poster of the film, Rajveer and Paloma can be seen sitting on a seashore with their backs turned to the camera, taking in the magnificent view of the sunset.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol and Poonam Dhillon have acted together in three movies – Sohni Mahiwal (1984), Samundar (1986), and Saveray Wali Gaadi (1986).
Rajshri Productions, which will mark its 75th year in the Hindi film industry, revealed that the teaser of ‘Dono’ – the production house’s 59th film – will be released on July 25.
The production company revealed the news on its Twitter handle. Rajveer Deol shared an identical post on his Twitter handle as well.
The film’s debutant director Avinash has previously worked as an assistant director in his father’s directorial ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. He also assisted his father in the 2022 film Uunchai, which had a star-studded cast featuring Danny Denzongpa, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sarika, Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher, and others.
‘Dono’ will be produced by Kamal Kumar Barjatya, Late Rajkumar Barjatya, and Ajit Kumar Barjatya.
‘Dono’, which will have a debutant director as well as fresh lead actors, is reminiscent of Sooraj Barjatya’s directorial film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, which launched two future stars, Salman Khan and Bhagyashree.
