Entertainment News: In a recent interview on The Ranveer Show, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn reflected on the diminishing presence of traditionally ‘masculine’ actors in the film industry. He contrasted today’s leading men with icons from past generations, highlighting actors like Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, and Amitabh Bachchan, whom he believes exuded authentic masculinity on screen.

Ajay shared his views on what defines a true ‘man’ in cinema, emphasizing that physique alone doesn’t qualify. “Actors don’t become men by building a body but are defined by their attitude,” he explained. According to Ajay, today’s actors lack the “dominating male personality” that once characterized Bollywood’s male stars. “All are boys; you don’t see men-men. In the earlier generation, we saw men—even in my generation, from Jackie Shroff to Amitabh Bachchan, they were all men,” he added, echoing a nostalgic sentiment for classic on-screen masculinity.

Reflecting on Heroes Like Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol

Ajay further illustrated his perspective by recalling iconic moments featuring Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol, two actors known for their action-packed roles. “When Akshay Kumar was thrashing ten people or Sunny Deol was pulling out a hand pump, we would clap because we believed they could do it,” he said, suggesting that audiences saw these actors as capable of their on-screen feats. In contrast, Ajay noted that this believability factor seems absent in today’s generation of actors. He emphasized that this shift is not about any single individual but an industry-wide change that reflects the evolving attitude and upbringing of younger actors.
