In spite of the buzz generated by the film, Sikander's opening-day box-office collections were modest for a Salman Khan movie, earning a modest Rs 26 crore, based on a report filed by box-office tracker Sacnilk.
Although this is better than the opening day business of his previous film, 'Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan' (Rs 13 crore), it is less than the spectacular Rs 53 crore opening day business of 'Tiger 3'.
On Sunday, the film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.95% in 2D and 22.96% in IMAX 2D. According to Sacnilk, Sikandar occupied the maximum at Chennai at 46.67%, followed by Bengaluru at 28%.
A. Murugadoss's written and directed Sikander unleashes the captivating journey of Sanjay Rajkot, a dominating leader of Rajkot, Gujarat. The film covers themes of loss, determination, and redemption.
Produced on a grand scale, the movie has a whopping budget of ₹200 crore and a star-studded cast, starring Aamir Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi.
