Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal admitted to hospital: Reports

Fashion designer Rohit Bal is reportedly admitted to Delhi's Medanta Hospital due to a critical cardiac condition. As per HT City's reports, the designer has been shifted to the ICU and has been put on the ventilator.

The sources said, "Bal was rushed to the hospital by model Suraj Dhalia three days ago. His heart was sinking and he was unconscious. His pacemaker gave seven shocks. He was initially taken to Moolchand and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Medanta."

Rohit Bal's health issues

In 2010, the designer recovered from a severe heart attack. In addition, he has pancreatitis, which has gotten worse over time. Over the past few months, the 62-year-old has been in and out of the hospital due to severe health issues.

Another close friend of HT City said, "Gudda is a fighter but his illness has taken a serious toll on him. He became extremely weak over the last few months. We are praying for him." 

According to reports, 62-year-old Rohit Bal has visited hospitals and rehab centers frequently due to alcoholism and the ensuing health issues. Reports state that when Bal was critically ill and committed to Medanta Hospital in November of last year, his longtime friend Arjun Rampal visited him.

Born in Srinagar on May 8, 1961, Rohit Bal started his professional career in 1986 by establishing Orchid Oversea Pvt. Ltd. alongside his brother. In 1990, he debuted his own collection. After graduating from St. Stephens College, he went to the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi to study fashion.
