YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has been granted interim relief by the Supreme Court after facing backlash over his controversial remarks on India’s Got Latent. The controversy erupted when Ranveer, while serving as a judge on Samay Raina’s YouTube talent show, asked a contestant an inappropriate question about "sex with parents." The remark went viral, triggering widespread criticism and legal scrutiny.
Following the outrage, several past clips from Ranveer’s YouTube channel began resurfacing. One such segment, which has now caught public attention, is from The Ranveer Show—an episode featuring Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Rohit Shetty, which was uploaded three months ago as part of promotions for Singham Again (2024). During the discussion, the trio revisited a scene from Golmaal 3 (2010), where Shreyas Talpade’s stammering character shares a phone number in a comedic manner. Reflecting on it, Rohit Shetty admitted that if the film were made today, it would likely face heavy trolling.
Ranveer responded by expressing his belief that politically incorrect comedy should make a comeback. “At some point, I think yeh so-called offensive humour lautega, and then boys like us will be happy,” he stated. He further compared cultural sensitivities, claiming that Americans tend to get offended more easily than Indians, who are generally more ‘chilled.’
BeerBiceps also took the opportunity to promote India’s Got Latent to Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, describing it as a groundbreaking YouTube show. “My friend is Samay Raina. I highly recommend y’all check it out. Wahan bohot offensive humour daala hai. Hyper offensive. Gaaliyaan, direct offence, etc. and every person in the country is watching that show, including adults—chup chup ke,” he said. Ranveer further claimed that the show has become the “story of YouTube in 2024” and that its audience spans from “age 7 to 70.” Rohit Shetty, meanwhile, acknowledged that he appreciates Samay Raina’s speaking style.
Despite securing interim relief from the Supreme Court, Ranveer continues to face scrutiny, with Maharashtra Cyber summoning him to appear on February 24. The resurfaced clips have only intensified discussions around his stance on comedy and free speech, keeping the controversy alive in public discourse.
