Ran away for a girl: Diljit Dosanjh shares his childhood memories

Music sensation Diljit Dosanjh recently shared a story, recalling his past, where he ran away from home at the age of 8 for a girl. Although his plan could not succeed, the villagers saw him and he was asked to go back home. 

 Why did the star run away?
In a recent interview with Raj Shamani on his podcast, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh said that he tried to run away from home at the age of seven or eight because a girl had complained to his teacher at school about him. In response to this, he planned to run away. He packed his backpack with two bananas and a couple of other fruits, took his bicycle, and left because his teacher asked him to bring his parents. 
He told me that when he was in school, some of his seniors were randomly asking, Tereko kaunsi ladki pasand hai? (Which girl do you like?) He pointed towards a girl and said,’ I like her.’ 
His seniors advised him to confess his feelings to her so that they could get married in the future. He followed the advice of his seniors and did what they said. But the girl went straight to the teacher and complained about Diljit. The Chamilka actor recalled, ‘That felt like the end of the world.’.

What happened then?
Without sharing the incident with his parents, he decided to avoid it and run away. So he packed two bananas and all the fruits he could see. He took his bicycle and ran away. But he was stopped by his villagers. He shared that in villages, there is no such thing as someone else’s kid; anyone can yell and shout at you. All the villagers are a part of one family, which is very common in villages.
 
Since his plans did not succeed, he gave false reasons to not go to school. He claimed to have a stomach ache for the next two days. Ultimately, his teacher called him.
In another recent interview, he also mentioned that his parents sent him away from the village to Ludhiana with his maternal uncle without his consent, due to which he lost his connection with his parents as well as his village.
