Rajinikanth mourns the loss of Vijayakanth

The demise of veteran actor and DMDK Chief Vijayakanth on December 28 has left a void in the Tamil film industry and politics. Superstar Rajinikanth, who was shooting for his upcoming film 'Vettaiyan' in Tuticorin, expressed his deep sorrow and paid tribute to his dear friend. Rajinikanth, addressing the media at the Tuticorin airport, highlighted Vijayakanth's remarkable willpower and the significant loss his passing represents.

"My heart aches. Vijayakanth was a man with great willpower," said Rajinikanth, visibly saddened by the news. He recalled seeing Vijayakanth at the DMDK's general body meeting, expressing optimism that he would overcome his health challenges. Rajinikanth acknowledged that Vijayakanth's death is a substantial loss to the people of Tamil Nadu.

Rajinikanth shared his belief that had Vijayakanth been in good health, he would have been a formidable force in Tamil Nadu's political landscape. He envisioned Vijayakanth contributing significantly to the welfare of the people. The actor lamented the loss, emphasising the impact on the Tamil Nadu community, and wished for Vijayakanth's soul to rest in peace.

Vijayakanth's Legacy

Captain Vijayakanth, survived by his wife Premalatha and two sons, Vijaya Prabhakaran and Shanmuga Pandian, concluded his public appearances on December 14. Known for his influential presence in both cinema and politics, Vijayakanth's contributions have left an indelible mark. His final procession and cremation with full state honours are scheduled to take place as a tribute to his impactful legacy.
