Hyderabad: The premiere of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad turned chaotic on December 4 as a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre to see Allu Arjun.  The excitement quickly spiraled into tragedy when a stampede-like situation ensued, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old woman, Revathi, and leaving her nine-year-old son, Sri Tej, in critical condition. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM when Allu Arjun made a surprise appearance, prompting fans to rush forward in a hurry to catch a glimpse of the star.

Victims and Immediate Response

Revathi had attended the premiere with her husband Bhaskar and their two children. During the chaos, both she and Sri Tej lost consciousness. Emergency responders rushed them to Durga Bhai Deshmukh Hospital in Vidyanagar, where Revathi was tragically declared dead on arrival. Sri Tej was subsequently transferred to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet.

Police Struggle to Control the Crowd

The stampede erupted as police struggled to manage the overwhelming crowd that had gathered outside the theatre. Reports indicate that the main gate of the theatre collapsed under pressure, exacerbating the situation. Witnesses described scenes of panic as officers attempted to administer CPR to those who had fainted amidst the chaos. Following the screening, Allu Arjun left the venue under heavy security, briefly waving to fans from his vehicle while urging them to clear a path for emergency services.
