Ponniyin Selvan 2 Trailer and Audio launch

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 of Mani Ratnam was a huge success in 2022. The first instalment concluded on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eagerly waiting for the second part of the epic saga. The trailer and audio for the second instalment were released on March 29 at roughly 6 p.m. The grand event happened at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan as the principal guest, the fans were thrilled to meet the starry cast of the Mani Ratnam masterpiece’s trailer and audio launch.

The Cast and the Crew of PS2

The magnum opus is starred by a stunning cast, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha and Jayam Ravi in lead roles, and Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast. 

The technical team includes the legendary music composer A R Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad, and cinematographer Ravi Varman. Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions collaborated on the film’s production. Along with beautiful songs and breathtaking background scores of A R Rahman, the stunning camera works of PS1 by Ravi Varman were a huge reason for the great reception of the first part of this epic film. By rectifying the negative feedback and maintaining the positives in the first instalment, fans are expecting the second part to be bigger and better.

PS Movie Series: A Literary Adaptation

Ponniyin Selvan was a Tamil-language historical fiction novel authored by writer Kalki Krishnamurthy.  It narrates the account of Chola prince Arulmozhivarman’s early days in roughly 2,210 pages. Ponniyin Selvan is widely recognised as one of Tamil literature’s all-time greatest works. The series’ fan base is so large that the magazine’s sales increased to 71,366 copies. The novel has remained popular in the present era, gaining a cult following and fandom among people of all ages.

The huge success of the film is also about the massive popularity of the literary work. However, according to the fans, Mani Ratnam made the film by retaining all the glory of the book without losing its greatness and charm. Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be released in cinemas on April 28 of this year.
