‘Perhaps he likes to support terrorists’: Kashmir Files director on Naseeruddin Shah

Naseeruddin Shah had recently shown concern over the popularity of films like Gadar 2 and Kashmir Files and said that the filmmakers of these movies are doing something ‘very harmful’. This comment of Shah has stirred controversy on the internet and the director of Kashmir Files has called Shah out for his comment.

Vivek Agnihotri who directed Kashmir Files lashed out at Naseeruddin Shah after his recent comment, and said that the actor perhaps feels ‘exposed’ with the truth of The Kashmir Files, and ‘likes to support terrorists’ but he does not

What did Vivek say?

Vivek Agnihotri said in an interview that he is a great admirer of the veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and does not know why the actor has grown late as of late.

He said “I am a great admirer of Naseer Sahab that’s why I had cast him in The Tashkent Files. But I don’t know of late why he has grown old and if that’s the case then I should not say anything. Sometimes, people are frustrated with a lot of things, or maybe he feels he is getting exposed with the truth of The Kashmir Files something about him is getting exposed. People generally don’t like being naked in front of people through somebody else’s art. There is something wrong, there is something not right with what Naseer keeps saying.”

He also mentioned that the Naseerudin Shah feels happy doing films that support genocide which might be because of his religion or his frustration.

“For whatever reasons, perhaps he likes to support terrorists, I don’t. I don’t even care what Naseer says because I have zero tolerance for terrorism, maybe he loves them, and I don’t care” Vivek further said.

Upcoming projects of Naseeruddin Shah and Vivek Agnihotri

Naseerudin Shah’s upcoming film is with director Vishal Bhardwaj in Charlie Chopra. The drama series will also see his wife Ratna Pathak Shah, and their two sons Vivaan Shah and Imaad Shah. Along with this the cast for Charlie Chopra also includes Lara Dutta, Neena Gupta, Wamiqa Gabbi and many more.

Meanwhile, Vivek Agnihotri is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film The Vaccine War on September 28. The movie will star Nana Patekar as the head of scientists, as they proceed on the journey to create India’s first vaccine against Covid-19. Apart from the movie will also see Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda and Pallavi Joshi play pivotal roles in the film.
