The highly anticipated trailer of the upcoming film ‘OMG 2’, starring Akshay Kumar as a ‘messenger of Lord Shiva’, has finally been unveiled after a slight delay.

The film revolves around the narrative of a father’s relentless battle for his son’s right to education, with Pankaj Tripathi portraying the central character.

The trailer commences with Lord Shiva directing his loyal bull Nandi to dispatch one of his messengers from ‘Shiv-Gan’ to aid Kanti Sharan Mudgal, portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi.

“Nandi, a great calamity is about to befall my devotee… Take someone from my Shiv-Gan to help my devotee,” the voice of Lord Shiva says in the opening of the trailer.

In the real world, Kanti’s son faces expulsion from school due to an alleged ‘vulgar’ act. The ‘vulgar act’ in question is kept a mystery in the trailer

Caught in a complex legal situation, Kanti becomes both the accuser and the defendant in the courtroom. Yami Gautam, portraying a lawyer, engages in a fiery legal clash with Kanti, while Shiva’s messenger offers guidance toward the right path.

Directed and written by Amit Rai, ‘OMG 2’ is set to clash with Sunny Deol’s upcoming film ‘Gadar 2’. ‘OMG 2’ will hit the theatres on August 11.

The film’s journey to release has been marred by controversies, including reports suggesting that the film had been put on hold by the censor board due to sensitivities surrounding its religious theme. However, the film was cleared without any cuts and only a few modifications – including the change of Akshay Kumar’s character from Lord Shiva to the deity’s messenger.

Sequel to the acclaimed film ‘OMG: Oh my God’ starring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, ‘OMG 2’ retains the essence of its predecessor. In the original, Akshay Kumar portrayed the character of Lord Krishna. Last month, a tantalizing glimpse into the film’s world was provided through a brief teaser running for one minute and 26 seconds.

‘OMG 2’ trailer delayed due to death of art director Nitin Desai

The trailer’s initial release was scheduled for Wednesday; however, it was postponed as a mark of respect for the late art director Nitin Desai, who died from suicide earlier that day.

Akshay Kumar conveyed this decision through a Twitter post, saying, “Unbelievably sad to know about the demise of Nitin Desai. He was a stalwart in production design and such a big part of our cinema fraternity. He worked on so many of my films… this is a huge loss. Out of respect, we are not releasing the OMG 2 trailer today. Will launch it tomorrow at 11am. Om Shanti.”
