The much-awaited teaser of the upcoming OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, was released on Tuesday.

Lead actor Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and Instagram to share the teaser, captioning it with the phrase ‘Rakh vishwas’ (Have faith).

Viacom18 Studios, who is presenting the film, also released the teaser on YouTube, where it has more than 5 thousand views in an hour.

In the trailer, Akshay Kumar dons a shirtless look with long dreadlocks and an ash-smeared forehead, as he takes on the look of Lord Shiva. Pankaj Tripathi plays Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devout follower of Lord Shiva who keeps his faith despite suffering a personal tragedy. In the film, a teenager can be seen dying by suicide in front of a train.

The teaser begins with a voice-over from Tripathi’s character, who says, “Human’s give proof of God’s existence, by being an atheist or a believer. But God never discriminates among the people he created.”

The film also contains footage from the 2012 film OMG: Oh My God!, in which Paresh Rawal starred alongside Akshay Kumar.

Yami Gautam absent from OMG 2 teaser

While the OMG 2 teaser featured the lead actors, Yami Gautam was missing from the teaser. Gautam plays the role of Kamini Maheshwari, a lawyer who will play an important role in the story.

Speaking about her experience shooting for OMG 2, Gautam told Bollywood Hungama, “He [Akshay] is a very good producer also, and someone who is very passionate about this film. When I was given the narration I could feel that he really wants to make it with the right team. Of course, whatever chance I got to work with Pankaj Tripathi ji also, such a fantastic actor.

“With the new writing, there is another perspective which is very relevant, talked about, yet not talked about. So that will be interesting to see.”

OMG 2 is set to hit the theatres on August 11.
