Child actor Aarush Varma, who portrayed the role of Pankaj Tripathi’s son, Vivek Mudgal, in OMG 2, is now hitting headlines after he signed a petition to change the rating of the film from ‘A’ to ‘U/A.’ Varma’s performance in the film brought him to the limelight after the 16-year-old breathed life into a challenging character on the silver screen.

Aarush on OMG 2

Aarush, in a conversation with the media, mentioned, “The petition was my mom’s idea. I remember seeing a character put a petition in a cartoon, and I joked with my mom, ‘Maybe I should start a petition about OMG 2,’ and she said that it was actually a very good idea.

Varma hopes that if the Censor Board accepts the petition, there could be a change in the rating. Varma also mentioned getting positive responses all over social media after he decided to sign the petition.

Aarush expressed gratitude for the audience’s reception and mentioned, “I haven’t watched the film yet, but a lot of people are praising my performance, so that’s happy to hear. If I can’t enjoy my own work, at least someone else will.”

The debates continue to catch fire

Ever since OMG 2 was released, the masses have come forward to raise their voices and express their disappointment about the certification constraints imposed by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Varma signed the petition on Change.org, which has now gained over 1300 signatures so far from the audience.

Elaborating on the film’s significance, the makers of OMG 2 urged everyone to watch the film. From an educational point of view, the film addressed an important issue.
