The Golden Globes Awards is coming around for the 81st time! The world will witness the celebration and recognition of the most loved films from Hollywood of 2023. Popular actors and actresses as well as those who work behind the scenes will make an appearance for the event. Mark your calendars for January 7 and do not miss the Golden Globe Awards hosted by  Jo Koy.

Where can I tune in to watch the awards?

American Viewers can tune into CBS to watch the ceremony. The event will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel at 8 pm Eastern Time (6.30 am IST), and 5 pm on the West Coast. The show will be aired on the CBS app and streamed on Paramount.
How has the event improved this year?
It will be the first major broadcast of awards season, with a new home on CBS. The 2021 report found that there were no Black members in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (which were voters for the awards). This resulted in stars and studios boycotting the awards and NBC refusing to cover the event. After the group added journalists of colour to its ranks and instituted other reforms to address ethical concerns, the show came back last January on a probation agreement with NBC. The year the group nominating and voting for the awards consists of a more diverse group (more than 300 people from around the world).

Who is hosting the event and performing there?

Comedian Jo Koy will host the Globes. The organizers recognised Koy for his “infectious energy and relatable humour". The job requires that the audience experience humour but the hosting needs to be kept crisp and organised.

Apart from the host, the performers of the event also carry the weight of the show. On Friday a list of the performers was released. The presenters have been narrowed to Angela Bassett, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Annette Bening, Mark Hamill, Kevin Costner, Jonathan Bailey, Orlando Bloom and Will Ferrell.
