Amid a surge of releases and trolls for his recent film and the star's alleged cosmetic touch-up, Rajkummar Rao is back with another new film, and this time it's with Janhvi Kapoor. The 'Mr. and Mrs. Mahi' trailer is out now and it looks exciting. Directed by Sharan Sharma under the banner of Zee Studios & Dharma Productions, the movie embarks on a journey of self-realization, emphasizing pursuing individual dreams rather than those inflicted upon due to parental expectations. This movie is its second consecutive release of Rao in the same month, the first one being 'Srikanth', which performed well at the box office as of now.

Deciphering the storyline

The trailer begins by introducing two individuals, of diverse personalities, one who likes to read Jane Eyre, Emma, and the other who is engrossed in exploring Facebook, social media, and sales bills. The conversation between the two takes the audience on a journey that unravels a thrilling tale of love, passion, and cricket.

The two protagonists of the story share the same nickname, 'Mahi', having a passion for cricket, one of whom is superficially visible while the other is still to discover. Rajkummar's character reflects that of a defeated player, going through a crumbling career in sports that he truly loves. But after discovering his wife's talent, played by Janhvi, through her smashing hits on the cricket field, he decides to coach her and prevent history from repeating by proving his victory through her.

More about the film

While talking about the movie, Producer Karan Johar said that the movie is among those stories that transcend mere storytelling, resonating beyond the screen and speaking the deepest aspirations of individuals. Sharing the trailer, Rajkummar Rao wrote, "It's more than just a story; it's a journey of self-discovery, defying odds & hitting doubt out of the park when it comes to chasing your dream with an imperfectly perfect partnership." The movie will be released in theatres on May 31.
