Allu Arjun is back with the sequel, “Pushpa: The Rule,” following the huge success of “Pushpa: The Rise.” The producers of “Pushpa 2” have finally revealed the release date after keeping fans on the edge of their seats with a variety of inputs. The movie will be shown in theaters on August 15, 2024—Independence Day—so mark your calendars.

Makers break the news

Mythri Moviemakers, who are producing Pushpa 2: The Rule, made the reveal on X. “Remember this date. Pushpa 2: The Rule will have a worldwide release on August 15, 2024. Pushpa Raj is back to rule the box office,” they tweeted. Allu Arjun is not visible on the new poster, but his hand is seen adorned with rings and bracelets. There are also blood stains on his hand.

Earlier, the makers also released a first look at the icons’ birthday on April 7, 2023. The teaser-like clip showed Allu in a swaggy avatar. FirstLook posters later sparked headlines after the actor’s look resembled a divine entity; sooner, fans and the Telegu audience broke it down about a ritual of the state that formed up his look.

Pushpa so far

In December 2021, when going back to the movies seemed unlikely, Pushpa: The Rise was released. The movie is largely responsible for drawing viewers back to traditional movie theaters.

The 1990s provide the setting for Pushpa’s plot, which centers on the red sandalwood mafia. It described the ascent of smuggler Pushpa, played by Allu Arjun, through the ranks. Additionally, there is a romance component involving him and Rashmika Mandanna’s Srivalli, Fahad Fasil played a cameo posing as the antagonist whose character will be explored in the sequel

The film ended on a cliffhanger with the Fahadh Faasil character swearing revenge on Pushpa, and fans have been eagerly waiting to know what would follow the story. Pushpa 2 would be the first film that Allu Arjun has starred in in over two years, the previous film being Part 1 of Pushpa.

In 2021, Pushpa 1: The Rise became a huge blockbuster across India, making Allu Arjun the new pan-India star. Last month, he even won the National Film Award for Best Actor.
