In June 2023, five individuals lost their lives after they went on an expedition on an OceanGate submarine In an effort to let the world know the truth about this tragedy, MindRiot Entertainment has announced that they will make a film on it.According to media reports, the film will be titled Salvaged. It will show the journey of the five individuals covering the time from before the wreckage to the discovery of the submarine that exploded underwater.OceanGate speaks on this filmWriter Jonathan Keasey spoke on the making of this film and said “The Titan Tragedy is yet another example of a misinformed and quick-to-pounce system, in this case, our nonstop, 24-7 media cycle that convicts and ruins the lives of so many people without any due process.”According to Keasey, the film will not only honour all those involved in the submersible tragedy, and their families but will also serve as a vessel that addresses bigger concerns about the nature of media in contemporary times.“Truth is all that matters. Theres nuance. Always nuance,” he added.OceanGate tragedyThe OceanGate submarine had five individuals on board including the OceanGate CEO, Stockton Rush (61). The vessel disappeared on June 18, which resulted in a massive search conducted by the US and Canada. It was only after four days on June 22 that the wreckage was found near the Titanic.The submarine which was on its way to the ocean bed to take a look at the famous Titanic ship is believed to have exploded underwater due to excessive water pressure.The other individuals on board the submarine were British Pakistani billionaire Shahzada Dawood (48), and his son Suleman Dawood (19), British billionaire Hamish Harding (58), and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet (77)
