Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay returns to the big screen with Kickass action as his onscreen character Leo appears to wage war with Sanjay Dutt’s Anthony. The film is Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second collaboration after 2021’s The Master. Makers of Leo ended the fan’s long wait as they reviled the trailer on social media.

Decoding the trailer

Vijay portrays a family guy with a wife played by actress Trisha and a daughter who reside in Kashmir. His history, however, follows him as bad guys seek retribution. They brutally beat him and set fire to his clothes, and for a little while, Vijay appeared beaten. His fierce warrior half lifts his head after taking a few blows, destroying all the fools by himself.

There is also talk of a police officer, played by director Gautham Vasudev Menon, searching for a serial murderer who is now at large. Sanjay Dutt portrays the boss villain with menacing looks and a strong screenplay.

Leo appears to be one of the most hyped films of Thalapathy Vijay’s recent past, as some rumors suggest this will be part of the LCU, i.e., Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which we saw building with the release of Kaithi and Vikram, which had Karthi and Kamal Hassan, respectively. This venture features Vijay in a rather bloodier avatar, as the 49-year-old is seen doing crazy cool action as he is seen fighting a variety from henchmen to hyenas.

More on ‘Leo’

SS Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio and Jagadish Palanisamy collaborated in the production of Leo. Anirudh Ravichander is the composer of Leo’s soundtrack. After Master and Kaththi, Leo is the pair’s third joint project.

Given that this is Vijay’s 67th film as a lead actor, Leo was initially announced in January 2023 under the working title Thalapathy 67. A few days later, the real title of the movie was revealed. Leo has been photographed in several places, including Kashmir and Chennai.
