Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan, who decided to bench and figure out his future ventures, has taken the producer’s chair to bring out Sunny Deol in a film called ‘Lahore 1947.’
The film will be helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the veteran Bollywood director known for his previous work with Deol in Ghayal, along with several Bollywood films like ‘Andaz Apna Apna,’ ‘Damini,’ Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani,’ ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ and others.

It’s Official!

Aamir took to the Instagram account of his production company to share the news. “I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next film, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny and one of my favorite directors, Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be the most enriching. We seek your blessings, A,” he wrote.

Aamir has run out of formula.

Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir’s most recent film, did not perform well at the box office. However, when it appeared on Netflix, they were grateful. The movie, which also starred Kareena Kapoor, was a Hindi translation of the popular Forrest Gump movie with Tom Hanks. Ever since the release, Khan has been on sabbatical pacing his comeback and further details of his plans are yet to be reported, Meanwhile, Aaamir was rumoured to produce an Indian adaptation of the Spanish film ‘Champions.’

Sunny’s coin flips.

Sunny Deol’s most recent film, Gadar 2, had a tremendous amount of success. After defeating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and earning more than ₹525 crore at the box office, the movie briefly held the record for the highest-grossing Hindi film in India. Jawan, Shah Rukh’s most recent film, dethroned it from the top place the next day.

A new pair in town!

Prior to the movie, Sunny and Aamir had never collaborated. However, the two have already engaged in a number of famous box-office confrontations. The first fight at the ticket counter happened in 1990, when Sunny Deol’s Ghayal and Aamir Khan’s Dil had simultaneous releases. Then, in 1996, it was Raja Hindustani vs. Ghatak, and in 2001, Lagaan and Gadar had the biggest box office battle in Indian cinema.
