Miss your warmth, kindness: Preity Zinta mourns father-in-law’s demise, celebs share condolences

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta took to social media to post a heartfelt and emotional note in remembrance of her late father-in-law Jon Swindle, who passed away on August 15.

Preity posted a cherished throwback photograph featuring herself with Swindle on Instagram. The photograph, which was taken during Preity’s wedding, captures the essence of the occasion, with Preity adorned in bridal attire. The image shows Preity dressed in a red lehenga and matching blouse, adorned with traditional jewellery. Jon is seen wearing a white shirt, a blue tie, and a grey suit, with a red mark on his forehead. The duo held hands and smiled for the camera.

Alongside an old picture from her wedding, Preity Zinta penned a heartfelt message, saying, “Dear Jon, I will miss your warmth, your kindness & most of all your incredible sense of humor. I loved going shooting with you, loved cooking your favourite Indian dishes and having conversations on every topic under the sun. Thank you so much for opening your home & your heart to me & my family. The East Coast will never be the same without you. I know you are at peace right now & at a happy place. Rest in peace.”

Bollywood celebs share condolences in Preity Zinta’s father-in-law picture

The Bollywood fraternity was quick to share condolences under the post, with Sussanne Khan writing, “So sorry to you and [husband] Gene for your loss pree… May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Actress Celina Jaitly also extended her sympathy, writing, “My deepest condolences to you and Gene. What a lovely photograph exudes so much love.”

The fans echoed their sympathies. One wrote, “Feel sorry, may his soul rest in peace. My condolences to everyone.” “Feel sorry, may his soul rest in peace. My condolences to everyone,” another fan wrote.

Preity Zinta tied the knot with Gene Goodenough on February 29, 2016. The couple resides in Los Angeles and welcomed twins Jai and Gia through surrogacy in 2021.

After a break from the industry, Preity made her return to the big screen with ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ in 2018, co-starring Sunny Deol and Arshad Warsi, and directed by Neeraj Pathak. She also made a cameo appearance in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.
