According to media reports, Judge David Herriford handed down the sentence to the accused rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, during a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court that had been pushed back by delays.

Reportedly, in December 2022, a jury found a 30-year-old rapper guilty of carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, assault with a semi-automatic handgun and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

In July 2020, Lanez was accused of shooting 28-year-old Megan Thee Stallion injuring her feet after a pool party in the Hollywood Hills.

Here’s what Megan said about shooting incident:

During the two-week train, Megan opened up about her shooting incident, saying that it was preceded by an argument that became heated when the two began attacking each other’s music careers.

Then, Grammy-winning rapper Megan had to undergo surgery and spent four days in the hospital before the physical therapy allowed her to walk again, she said in an interview with the media.

“I was very scared that I was not able to be Megan Thee Stallion no more,” she said.
