Himesh Reshammiya's acting comeback in Badass Ravikumar, a sequel to his earlier film The Xpose, is exceeding expectations at the box office. The film is competing against Loveyapa, a romantic comedy starring Junaid Khan (Aamir Khan's son) and Khushi Kapoor (Sridevi's daughter). Despite Loveyapa's anticipation and promotional efforts, Badass Ravikumar has taken an early lead.
Badass Ravikumar has shown strong performance, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 centers and single screens, with Sacnilk reporting close to 14% occupancy across India till the afternoon. Industry experts predict it could earn over Rs 5 crore on its opening day, with potential to reach Rs 7 crore if evening shows perform exceptionally well. In contrast, Loveyapa is expected to earn around Rs 1.25-1.50 crore on its opening day, with low occupancy rates reported. The film has seen show cancellations in several parts of the country.
Badass Ravikumar had significant advance bookings, selling over 59,000 tickets and accumulating ₹95 lakh before release. The film's dialogues and music have resonated with audiences, sparking nostalgia for the '80s and '90s. Loveyapa has struggled to attract audiences, selling only around 5,000 to 7,000 tickets in advance.
Badass Ravikumar's success is attributed to its exaggerated action, catchy dialogues, and Himesh Reshammiya's signature style, appealing to his loyal fanbase. The film has already recovered its ₹20 crore budget through music sales and subsidies. Meanwhile, industry analysts believe that Loveyapa needs exceptionally strong word-of-mouth to recover from its slow opening
