Entertainment News: Abhijeet Bhattacharya, known for his timeless hits, has voiced strong disapproval of Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla’s recent concert performances. The veteran singer believes today’s concerts prioritize dance over true musical talent.
Legendary singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has stirred controversy with his sharp criticism of contemporary artists Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla. In an interview with Times Now, Bhattacharya expressed disappointment over the focus on dancing rather than singing in their concerts. He stated that while his own concerts see a seated audience, enjoying the music, the new wave of stars prioritize dance over musical performance.
The iconic singer also took a direct jab at Diljit and Karan’s concert draw, asserting that they wouldn’t be able to sell tickets for shows in smaller cities like Kolhapur. Bhattacharya boasted about the success of his own concerts, where auditoriums are packed, and claimed his children distribute tickets for Diljit and Karan's shows instead of buying them.
In his boldest statement, Bhattacharya challenged the two Punjabi stars to perform in Kolhapur, questioning their true reach and popularity beyond major cities. He emphasized that his concerts continue to be houseful and that people respect the music over the dance, unlike what he perceives in the shows of today’s pop stars.
Both Diljit and Karan have recently made headlines for their extravagant tours, with Karan Aujla's tickets priced as high as Rs 15 lakh, even surpassing Coldplay's. Bhattacharya, however, remains unimpressed by these ticket prices and critiques the trend of spectacle over substance in modern music performances.
