The box office numbers of Salman Khan’s latest family-oriented film “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” on its sixth day, indicate that while it has performed moderately well so far, it has not met the usual high standards of films associated with Salman’s films.
According to an industry tracker, earnings of the Salman Khan-led movie “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” on its sixth day of release are estimated to be approximately Rs 5 crore. This brings the movie’s domestic earnings to around Rs 87 crore, which, while respectable, is considered subpar for a Salman Khan release during Eid. The film’s worldwide gross earnings stood at Rs 134 crore as of the last update.
As a result, the movie is unlikely to reach the domestic box office milestone of Rs 100 crore within its first week of release, and is now aiming to end its run with a total of Rs 95 crore.
Despite not meeting the expectations that come with a Salman Khan film, especially during a festive occasion (as it only earned Rs 15 crore on its opening day), the remake of Veeram is still considered one of the few successful Hindi films of 2023, along with Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor’s “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” and Shah Rukh Khan’s action movie “Pathaan,” which featured Salman in an extended cameo. While it is unlikely that “KKBKKJ” will be able to match “Pathaan’s” earnings, it still has a chance to come close to the domestic total of Rs 147 crore set by “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.”
“Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” is promoted as a film suitable for all ages, and it stars not only Salman Khan but also Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Bhumika Chawla, Palak Tiwari, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaaz Gill, and others.
Although Salman’s popularity may have helped “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” maintain its position in the box office, it failed to impress film critics. In her review, Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express described the film as “unimaginative” and made a comparison to Salman’s previous film, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” which had a solid storyline from director Kabir Khan. According to Gupta, the latest Bhaijaan movie “is running on empty.”
