Kalki 2898 AD Trailer: The much-awaited trailer for Kalki 2898 AD is out now and as the name suggests, the film presents itself in a future-past dystopian sci-fi drama that will encapsulate high-octane action and adventure in the drama. This Nag Ashwin directorial has had fans betting on high horses for the same ever since the concept was released and now that the trailer is out, it stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Saswata Chatterjee, and Disha Patani. The film seems to be a reimagined tale that connects the Mahabharata with this sandlike world of the future where darkness is in control.

Decoding the trailer

The trailer features a high-concept production, where our lead Prabhas's character is a bounty hunter, while Deepika's role looks like that of mother to Demigod Kalki, who is still unborn, as the evil plots treachery to kill the unborn hero. Ashwattamma is being played by Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan and plays an arc where he will protect Deepika from any anomaly. Meanwhile, Saswata Chatterjee seems to be on the dark side, ready to crush the rebellion.

The trailer opens to introduce the world of Kaashi, a land on top of mountains that is stricken with poverty as the resistance and rich seem to capsulate the resources. But gradually, it becomes clear that a child is being raised who has the potential to depose him and usher in a new Yug. Next, Deepika Padukone is introduced to us in the trailer. It is rumored that she is expecting a child who will alter the course of history. She appears to have a pregnancy bump. The King of Kailash places a bounty on Deepika's persona, presumably in recognition of the threat.

It is shown that Bhairava from Prabhas is the most accomplished hunter. He shows off his unrivaled record and declares that only he can bring the soon-to-be mother. However, he is unaware that Deepika's persona is being assisted by Amitabh Bachchan's Ashwatthama. Will she be saved by him or will Bhairava from Prabhas reach her first? The movie will have to tell the rest of the story. Nag Ashwin gives moviegoers a glimpse of Kamal Haasan as the trailer ends, who may be Kali's character.

The hype is unreal!

Prabhas stated that Kalki 2898 AD is "designed for foreign audiences" in a recent interview with Deadline. "The entire film is intended for an international audience," he said. Because of this, it has the largest budget, and the top actors in the nation are involved." Speaking on his status as a pan-Indian celebrity, he continued, "We were hearing people refer to me as 'pan-Indian' for the first time." Although it does not actually effect me, it is nice to know that I am now liked by individuals all throughout the nation."

The high-ambition venture of the director

Nag Ashwin has shared details on the movie's chronology. The movie's timeline would start with Mahabharat, according to Nag Ashwin, who made this announcement at the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon. "The film begins with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD," he said. It covers a period of 6000 years. We endeavored to construct worlds, envisioning their potential while preserving Indian culture and avoiding a Blade Runner aesthetic. The video starts 6000 years ago, in 3102 BC, which is when Krishna's final avatar is thought to have vanished, 2898 AD."
