The nominees of the prestigious International Emmy Awards have been announced which features 56 nominees from 20 countries across 14 categories. Indian artists such as Jim Sarbh, Shefali Shah and Vir Das have found their names enlisted among the nominees.
The Made in Heaven actor, Jim Sarbh has earned a nomination in the est Performance by an Actor category for his role in the SonyLIV web series Rocket Boys. The other nominees for this category include Argentina’s Gustavo Bassani, the UK’s Martin Freeman and Sweden’s Jonas Karlsson.
On the other hand, Shefali Shah was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her incredible performance in the Netflix web series Delhi Crime Season 2. She shares this category with Denmark’s Connie Nielsen, UK’s Billie Piper and Mexico’s Karla Souza.
Moreover, well-known Comedian and actor Vir Das also secured a nomination for his performance in his Netflix comedy show, titled Vir Das: Landing. This nomination also includes France’s Le Flambeau, Argentina’s El Encargado and the UK’s popular comedy show Derry Girls Season 3.
All the three nominees have shared their excitement on the news on different social media platforms.
Emmy Nominee Jim Sarbh shared a post announcing this achievement on Instagram where he adressed himself as a punk.
He wrote ” I was having quite a weird few days, and then all the pieces wrapped up neatly and I heaved a huge sigh of relief, played a game of sweaty basketball, cycled home in the cold sweet rain, went in for a shower, and came out to all these messages and calls. I was an hour late to watch Dirty Harry with a neighbour, so I ran up, told him about the nom, and then we proceeded to watch the movie. ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’ Yes. Honoured to be nominated for the International @iemmys amongst such talented artists.”
Shefali Shah took to Instagram to make the announcement with a post of the nominations while expressing her excitement over the news.
She wrote “OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists. This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. This is for all of us in #DelhiCrime.”
Comedian Vir Das also could not contain his happiness and shared the news on X(Twitter) where he wrote OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists. This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. This is for all of us in #DelhiCrime.
Apart from these nominations for India, well-known producer and director, Ektaa Kapoor will also receive the prestigious International Emmy Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala. This grand award ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 20, 2023, in New York City.
