Hotels in BKC skyrockets due to Ambani wedding, cost of room for single night will blow your mind

As the Amabni wedding is right on the corner to be held on July 12, 2024, all the hotels are booked from the dates of July 12 to July 15. The price of one room has sky rocketed from Rs 13,000 to approximately Rs 91,000.

The pre-wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and his fiancée Radhika Merchant have had an immense impact on hotel occupancy and prices in Mumbai. Travel and hotel websites reveal that the two primary hotels in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) - a prominent upscale area in Mumbai where the wedding is set to take place are fully booked. One hotel is offering rooms at ₹91,350 per night on July 14, a significant increase from the usual ₹13,000 per night.

Skyrocketing prices

The wedding is scheduled for July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC. Although there is no official announcement regarding where the guests will be staying, hotel rates in and around BKC have surged. On July 5, international pop star Justin Bieber performed for many prominent figures from the entertainment and sports industries. More events are planned for the upcoming days, with numerous celebrities and distinguished guests invited to the wedding celebrations from July 12 to July 14.

The wedding will take place on July 12, followed by Shubh Aashirwad on July 13, where attendees will receive divine blessings. The final event, Mangal Utsav, or the wedding reception, is set for Sunday, July 14, putting an end to the lavish ceremonies. 

Restrictions by the Traffic Police

The Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for BKC travelers due to the high-profile wedding. Several roads leading to the Jio World Convention Centre will have restricted access from 1 pm to midnight between July 12 and July 15.

All-booked hotels

Room rates on travel booking websites indicate that tariffs at the Trident BKC are ₹10,250 per night plus taxes on July 9, ₹16,750 plus taxes on July 15, and ₹13,750 plus taxes on July 16. No rooms are available from July 10 to July 14, as they have been marked as ‘sold out’ on the hotel's website. However, rooms are available at other five-star hotels such as Grand Hyatt, Taj Santacruz, Taj Bandra, and St. Regis on the mentioned dates.
