American supermodel Gigi Hadid, who recently visited India to attend the launching event of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), has been arrested a couple of days ago for possession of cannabis (marijuana) on her vacay (vacation) in the Cayman Islands, according to the media reports.Gigi Hadid, her friend arrested in Cayman IslandsThe 28-year-old Hollywood sensation was reportedly arrested at Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10 after arriving with a friend McCarthy via a private jet in the Cayman Islands.As per the reports, shortly after Hadid and her pal arrived via a private plane, customs officials allegedly found marijuana and utensils used for the consumption of marijuana in their luggage.After then, Gigi and her friend were arrested on suspicion of importation of marijuana and importation of Utensils used for the consumption of marijuana, the reports said, adding that they were then taken to the Prisoner Detention Centre, where they were released on bail.Thats not it, marijuana and equipment for using marijuana were found in the supermodel and her friends luggage. The quantities were minimal and appeared to be for personal use.Gigi gets bailNotably, Gigi Hadid and her friend McCarthy appeared in summary court on July 12, 2023, and were charged.
