Kangana Ranaut is always in the headlines, for speaking out her mind. She has supported the “same-sex marriage” this time. On his Twitter account, Apurva Asrani praised Kangana Ranaut for her support of same-sex unions. The actor argued in favour of same-sex unions by saying that when two people have “one heart,” their preferences are irrelevant. Marriage, according to the National Award recipient, is “a bond of love.”

As per sources, while talking to the media, Kangana said that “Marriage is a bond of love. When people’s hearts are one… what their preference is, what can we say about that?”

Apurva, the co-writer of Kangana Ranaut’s 2017 film Simran, thanked the actor for backing same-sex marriage at a time when most stars are shy about speaking on the topic. Taking to his Twitter handle, “A person ‘cancelled’ by the ‘liberal’ media has no right to an opinion right? Even if her statement is humane, brave & timely all at once? Kangana Ranaut speaks for #marriageequality. Something that most movie stars have been shy of doing. From one Queen to another, Thankyou 🏳️‍🌈”

Same-sex marriage ‘blot on humankind:’ Puri Peeth Shankaracharya

While some are backing same-sex marriage, some are against it. Swami Nischalananda Saraswati of the Govardhan Math said that if such a judgement is rendered, nature will punish the judges. He noted that the issue is within the purview of religious authorities and is not one for the court to decide.

The Shankaracharya stated, “Same-sex marriage is a stain on humanity and there is no need to accept a decision if it is legalised by the Supreme Court.”

DY Chandrachud, Chief Justice, Justices SK Kaul, S Ravindra Bhat, PS Narasimha, and Hima Kohli make up the five-judge constitution bench that is now hearing arguments on several petitions seeking the legal recognition of same-sex marriages. 

The Supreme Court, which is considering arguments on several petitions seeking legal recognition of same-sex unions, indicated on Thursday that it might submit the dispute over the Special Marriage Act of 1954’s 30-day prior notice clause for resolution by a two-judge bench.

A legal framework for inter-caste marriages is provided under the Special Marriage Act of 1954. It controls a civil union when the state, rather than a religious institution, approves the marriage.

According to Section 5 of the Act, the parties to a marriage must notify the marriage officer of the district where the marriage is to take place in writing and in the form provided in the second schedule before the marriage will be solemnised.

Kangana’s tweet against westernisation, Twitter reminds her of Dhaakad

For always being in the headline, Kangana Ranaut always stays in the headlines. And, sometimes she got trolled for her tweets also. Actor in her tweet urged people to ‘stop westernisation of our civilisation,’ sharing a video in which Riley Gaines, a University of Kentucky graduate and a swimmer spoke against NCAA and transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. Reacting to the video, Kangana got trolled by the users. 

In responding to Kangana’s tweet, users reminded her of ‘Dhaakad,’ which was fully Westernised, except for her language.

Kangana’s upcoming projects

In addition to other projects, Kangana is set to act in P Vasu’s “Chandramukhi 2,” the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Tamil horror comedy Chandramukhi, which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the key roles. Kangana will play a dancer in the king’s court who was renowned for her beauty and dance prowess in Chandramukhi 2. 

She will also appear in the upcoming drama film Emergency, which will be her first film to direct alone. Kangana plays the eponymous character of the late politician in the movie Emergency, which is based on the life of former prime minister Indira Gandhi. She will play the title role in both “The Incarnation: Sita” and “Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda.”
