Weeks after the Hollywood veteran actor Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro De Niro’s demise, the New York City Office has declared that the 19-year-old succumbed to the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, amino clonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine.

Drug overdose claims life of Leandro De Niro

On July 2, Leandro’s mother, actress Drena De Niro announced her son’s demise on her social media handles.

Sharing this depressing news, she wrote, “I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.”

“You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you.”

That’s not it, the Hollywood legend, Robert De Niro also extended his grief over his grandson’s demise, saying “Deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo.”

One arrested in this case

Just a week after Leandro’s death, a 20-year-old woman was arrested on federal narcotics charges and accused of selling the drugs that led to his death, said officials.

Reportedly, the accused, identified as Sofia Haley Marks, was arrested on July 13 on three counts of narcotics distribution stemming from the sale of drugs to De Niro Rodriguez, said a law enforcement official. After which, she appeared in Manhattan federal court the following day and agreed to remain apprehended until she requested bail at a later date.
