Renowned Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently participated in Pariksha Pe Charcha, where she candidly spoke about her school days, self-expression, and mental health. Sharing a snippet from the event on Instagram, she also expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity.
During her interaction with students, Deepika recalled, "Main bohot hi naughty bachchi thi. Main humesha sofas pe, tables pe, chair pe chad ke kudna… Kabhi kabhi hum bohot stress ho jaate hain. Jaise main Maths mein bilkul weak thi aur aaj bhi hoon." (I was a naughty kid at school who used to jump around sofas, tables, and chairs. We also get stressed a lot. Like I was so weak in Maths and still am.)
She referenced Prime Minister Modi’s book Exam Warriors, emphasizing the importance of expressing emotions rather than suppressing them. "Jaise Narendra Modi ji ne apne kitaab Exam Warriors mein likha hain, ‘Express never suppress.’ So always express yourself whether it is with your friends, family, parents, teachers. Journaling is a great way to express yourself."
The actress also touched upon her battle with depression, encouraging students to express their feelings. She engaged in a fun activity where students were asked to identify and write down their strengths, fostering self-awareness and confidence. Deepika thanked Prime Minister Modi for allowing her to interact with students and wished them success in their examinations. The full episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha is set to be released on February 12.
On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s cop-action film Singham Again (2024). Additionally, her 2018 blockbuster Padmaavat, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, was recently re-released in theaters.
