Comedian Munawar Faruqui wins 'Bigg Boss 17', bags ₹50 lakh prize and new car

Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui emerged victorious over actor Abhishek Kumar in the finale of reality show "Bigg Boss" season 17.

Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was announced as the winner of reality show "Bigg Boss" season 17 on Sunday. Show host and Bollywood actor Salman Khan named the 32-year-old Faruqui as the victor, who took home a ₹50 lakh cash prize and a car.

Faruqui defeated actor Abhishek Kumar through live voting in the finale, where Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan were special guests.

In a post on his official X account, Faruqui thanked his fans for their support and shared a picture with Salman Khan holding the Bigg Boss season 17 trophy.

Munawar Faruqui had an unforgettable experience on 'Bigg Boss 17'. From the very start, he was in the spotlight. He was not only strategic, but also turned obstacles to his advantage. Faruqui laid his life bare, opening up about his ex-wife and son.

Actors Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande and YouTuber Arun Srikanth Mahashetty were the other finalists competing for the prize.

In 2022, Mr Faruqui won the first season of reality show "Lock Upp", hosted by actor Kangana Ranaut.

Season 17 of "Bigg Boss" premiered on 15 October 2023 with 17 contestants, including Vicky Jain, Ayesha Khan, Anurag Dobhal, Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhatt, Isha Malviya, Jigna Vora, Firoza Khan and Rinku Dhawan.
