Colorado native Madison Marsh wins Miss America 2024 title; becomes first active-duty officer winner

Madison Marsh is a US Air Force officer which makes her a unique winner in the history of the pageant. Her dedication towards the United States of America and discipline are reflected in her service for the US defense forces.

About the pageant 

22-year-old won the pageant on Sunday (Monday, January 15 IST).  The venue of the event was set up in Orlando, Florida. The District of Columbia was included in the list of contenders which meant that there was a total of 51 girls that took part in the event. Texas resident Ellie Breaux was crowned the first runner-up. Indiana's Cydney Bridges took the spot of the second runner-up. Mallory Hudson of Kentucky became the third runner-up. Rhode Island's Caroline Parente earned the position of the fourth runner-up.

Marsh's questionnaire round

One of the most interesting rounds of the pageant is usually the questionnaire round, where the contenders are asked to answer a question on the spot. This tests how the individual can project their thoughts comprehensively in a situation where they are required to improvise. 
Madison was asked about her goals. She empathized her want to learn and lead "with passion". The lady appears to be one that follows her heart and it looks like it's been working in her favour. She spoke about the Whitney Marsh Foundation which she established to raise money for cancer. She disclosed that her mother passed away due to pancreatic cancer in 2018, and thus she created the foundation.

Apart from winning the title of Miss Colorado last year, Madison Marsh also graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 2023.

She is currently pursuing a master's degree at the Harvard Kennedy School in public policy.  Madison Marsh is an allrounder who has worked towards many positive projects. It will be interesting to see her blooming post her win.
