The Cannes Film Festival is under scrutiny, facing strong backlash from netizens after a video showing alleged racial discrimination by a security guard went viral. The security guard, recently called out for similar actions was seen rushing K-pop idol YoonA, not allowing her to pose for the camera. This absurd behaviour of the security guard is garnering widespread criticism from around the globe, alleging Cannes for 'Racial Discrimination' against women of colour.
YoonA, who looks stunning in her pink gown was obstructed by the female guard, disallowing her to interact or pose. Though the K-pop idol-turned-actress tried posing on the stairs as she walked down the 77th Cannes Red Carpet, she was rushed by the female staffer, allowing her just a brief moment to interact. YooNa looked disappointed after being treated like this.
YoonA was just trying to wave and pose for seconds to the cameras while walking up the stairs. So, don’t think there’s a need for the security to keep blocking her with that hand.

As soon as the video went viral, the Cannes guard was receiving backlash from all around. The netizens are questioning her intention as to why Americans were given more time to pose unobstructed but actresses like YoonA was resisted. One of the users wrote, "Finding out that security racist woman at Cannes did the same thing to Yoona on the red carpet??? Like why is she still there and not fired after Kelly rowland’s situation ????." Another user wrote, "It smells a lot like Cannes/Oscar nomination CROSS portrays the story of people from poor & rich countries of a hypothetical multi-racial future division."

Dominican actress Massierl Taveras had also faced the same fate, but she did not allow the guard to rush her inside. Instead, she pushed the guard who was not willing to let her unfold her dress to show the phenomenal work of Christ artwork. She was seen having a heated exchange with the same security guard who was trying to stop her from moving her train and posing for photographers.
