Cannes Film Festival’s 76th chapter kickstarted on Tuesday with the world premiere of Johnny Depp’s historical drama Jeanne du Barry, set in the reign of Louis XV. The film festival will continue till May 27. Ruben Östlund, the Swedish filmmaker serves as jury president.

Among many global stars, like always, Indians are al set to shine in the festival. While Esha Gupta, Sara Ali Khan and Manushi Chhillar stunned on the Cannes Carpet during the opening, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma among others are expected too to turn heads.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma will make her grand debut at Cannes Film Festival this year. She will be honouring the women in cinema along with Hollywood actress and Oscar award winner Kate Winslet. Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India, announced Anushka’s attendance earlier this month.

Esha Gupta

Jannat 2 actress Esha Gupta made her Cannes debut this year. Esha, a representative of the Indian government at the event, was present for the opening ceremony. Esha walked the carpet in a lovely pink dress with a thigh-high split. The outfit was emphasised with an ostentatious collar and tiny lace flowers around the neck.

Manushi Chhillar

Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar made a breathtaking entrance at the Cannes Film Festival, catching everyone’s eye in her ethereal white Cinderella outfit. In her environmentally aware couture gown created by Fovari, Manushi Chhillar oozed elegance, following in the footsteps of Bollywood’s most recognisable stars like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra. She established her position as India’s beauty queen by appearing on the red carpet in an awe-inspiring style, which made an impression on viewers.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

The reigning queen of Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, will soon walk the illustrious red carpet. And as always, the Bollywood diva’s dazzling red-carpet ensembles are highly anticipated by her fans throughout the world. Aishwarya Rai and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan were seen leaving for Cannes in the early hours of Wednesday and were spotted at the Mumbai airport.

Sara Ali Khan

In her first-ever Cannes red carpet appearance, Sara Ali Khan stood out as a desi girl amidst a whirlwind of enormous outfits and jewellery. Sara wore a lehenga made of ivory that she bought at the Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla shop. She had a dupatta on and it was fastened with a pin to her updo. Sara Ali Khan used minimal makeup and let her attire do the talking. She accented the look with a pair of gorgeous drop earrings.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting LMurugan, who is leading the Indian delegation at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Minister opted for traditional attire as he arrived on the red carpet on Tuesday.
