Since the tweet was shared by Prakash, it triggered a wave of outrage on social media, where he mocked Chandrayaan-3 and its Lander Vikram. So as expected, the netizens came up criticising the actor and schooled him for mocking the hard work of the ISRO (Indian Space and Research Organisation) scientists and slammed him as ‘blind hatred for BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’
One of the users said, “There is a difference between hating someone and hating your country. So sad to see this state of yours!”
Meanwhile, another clarified that the mission is of ISRO, not BJP and said, “Prakash ji, this Chandryan mission is from ISRO, not BJP. If it gets succeed, it’s for India not for any party. Why do you want this mission to fail? BJP is just a ruling party. It will go one day. But, ISRO will remain for years and will make us proud. In search of truth, you’re forgetting basic nationalism. India’s failure shouldn’t be a victory. Keep ISRO aside from this political hate.”
Expressing disappointment, one wrote, “You have stooped so low.. feel ashamed that you are a fellow countryman !! I am proud of ISRO !! Jai Hind.”
This is not the first time that Prakash Raj has spoken against PM, BJP and their ideals. He continues to share his opinions on social media despite receiving severe backlash. That’s not it, he also launched his active political engagement with the hashtag #justasking on social media following the assassination of his friend and journalist Gauri Lankesh in September 2017.
