Actor Anupam Kher will take on the role of famous Bengali poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore for his upcoming project. Kher took to social media on Friday to unveil the first look of him dressed as Tagore.
Kher posted a black-and-white video on Twitter and Instagram, where he is dressed in a dark grey overcoat and featuring an iconic bearded look, he wrote, “Delighted to portray Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. It is my good fortune that I have got the privilege of embodying Gurudev on screen! Will share more details of this film with you soon!”
Many fans and colleagues reacted to the posts, with fellow actor Parvin Dabas writing ‘Wow’. Many fans praised the uncanny similarity between the actor and Rabindranath Tagore, writing “Oh! My God, I couldn’t recognize you Sir… Superb.”
Rabindranath Tagore is one of the most famous poets around the world, who won a Nobel Prize in Literature, and wrote the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh.
Anupam Kher will be seen on the big screen in Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro In Dino’, which will hit the theatres on March 29, 2024. The film will feature a star-studded ensemble, including Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Kher will also feature in Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’, Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Vaccine War’, and Akshay Roy’s ‘Vijay 69’.
