Akshay Kumars highly-anticipated film OMG 2 has been garnering attention due to rumours of additional scrutiny by the Censor Board to avoid controversies like those faced by Adipurush earlier this year. However, sources close to the project have confirmed to news outlet NDTV that the OMG sequel has passed the certification process without any cuts and has received an A (Adults) certification.“There are no cuts in the film, only a few modifications, which the makers discussed with the censor board members,” the source told NDTV.The makers opted for this certification to maintain the films integrity and respect the norms of the censor board.“For a UA certificate, the committee was asking for a lot of cuts. The makers didnt want to compromise with the sanctity of the film. So they chose to go with an Adults certification but keeping the integrity of the film intact and also adhering to and respecting the norms of the censor board,” the source further added. The modifications made in OMG 2 are mainly related to audio and visual elements. Notably, Akshay Kumars character, instead of portraying Lord Shiva himself, will now be depicted as a messenger of the deity in the final cut of the film. While awaiting certification, there were speculations about the films release date possibly being postponed. However, as of now, OMG 2 is scheduled to hit theatres on its original release date, August 11. Following the teaser release last month, the film underwent review by the Revision Committee. The trailer of the film has reportedly been given a U/A certificate by the censor board, but it is yet to be released.Remove Mahakal temple scenes, or will launch protests: Priest on OMG 2The film recently faced controversy as a priest from Ujjains Mahakaleshwar temple demanded the removal of scenes shot at the shrine, stating concerns about potentially offending religious sentiments.“The censor board has given A certificate to the film Oh My God 2.
