Akshay Kumar tweets ‘Dil aur citizenship…’ after getting Indian citizenship

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar who was in the headlines due to his ‘Canadian citizenship’ has finally got Indian citizenship. Sharing the image on social media, the actor shows his Indian passport and nationality certificate, captioning it, “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!”

It is to be noted here that back in 2019, the actor had applied for Indian citizenship, but the plans got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And now, after giving up on his Canadian citizenship, Akshay gets back his Indian nationality. He has been into controversy because of this for a long time.

The picture shows that the certificate has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On a professional note, Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ running successfully in cinemas and has managed to get ₹55 crore on the box office in first four days of release.
