Popular TV actress Dipika Kakar recently shared her harrowing experience with an online delivery scam, shedding light on a concerning trend in which unsuspecting individuals receive unsolicited packages and are asked for their OTP (One-Time Password). In a candid video posted on her vlog, Kakar issued a warning to her fans and followers, urging them to stay vigilant and protect themselves from such fraudulent activities.

Know here what happened?

In the video, Dipika Kakar recounted an incident from a few days ago when a delivery person arrived at her home with a parcel, claiming it was a cash-on-delivery order. Given that Kakkar often orders items for herself and her son, Ruhaan, she paid for the parcel without much thought. However, upon opening it, she was taken aback to find items she had not ordered. What made it even more perplexing was that the parcel bore her name, address, and phone number.

The situation escalated as more packages kept arriving, along with persistent calls from the scammers, insisting that she provide them with the OTP. Kakar soon realised that this was a ploy to obtain the code and withdraw money from her account. She shared her discovery and advised people not to accept packages they didn't order or give away their OTP.

Kakar recounted, "The next day, 3-4 more parcels arrived. I told the delivery person that they weren't mine, but he insisted that the cancelled OTP would be sent to my phone. I reluctantly gave the OTP, and he left. Today, another 2-3 parcels arrived, and I refused to accept them, not giving out the OTP."
Consulting with a friend, Kakar confirmed that this was indeed a scam.

She shared her findings, stating, "I spoke to Aarti about it, and she checked with a few more people. Yes, this is a scam where items are delivered to your doorstep without your consent. They repeatedly call you, claiming they are delivering parcels. I want to urge everyone to be cautious – do not accept the order, and under no circumstances should you provide the OTP. Be vigilant, folks. If they come to your residence, do not accept the parcel. Check the seller's details on the package to determine whether it is genuine or a scam. Only then should you proceed with any payment."
