The 69th National Film Awards unveiled its winners on Thursday at 5:00 PM from New Delhi, celebrating exceptional performances and cinematic brilliance from across the Indian film industry.

South star Allu Arjun was crowned the Best Actor for his portrayal in the Telugu-language film ‘Pushpa’. The film industry also celebrated the phenomenal achievements of Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon, both of whom clinched the Best Actress award for their performances in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’, respectively.

The award for Best Feature Film was bestowed upon ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, a film that delved into the life and journey of scientist Nambi Narayanan. Meanwhile, the poignant narrative of ‘The Kashmir Files’ earned it the distinguished Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration, underlining its impact on fostering unity and harmony.

Pallavi Joshi emerged victorious as the Best Supporting Actress for her impactful role in ‘The Kashmir Files’, while Pankaj Tripathi was awarded as the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in ‘Mimi’.

‘RRR’, ‘Sardar Udham’ win big in National Film Awards

On the other hand, the critically acclaimed film ‘Sardar Udham’ secured the title of Best Hindi Film. Mega-hit ‘RRR’ garnered a plethora of awards, including the title of Best Popular Film.

Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Shershaah’ won the Special Jury award.

The National Film Awards are held annually to pay homage to outstanding creativity, cinematic excellence, and social relevance within the Indian film landscape. The Directorate of Film Festivals, an entity under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, explained that the awards “aim at encouraging the production of films of aesthetic and technical excellence and social relevance.”
