'The Last of Us' returns for season 2 , take a look at New Character Posters & Synopsis

Washington: The American drama series ' The Last of Us' is all set to return with a fresh season. The series is based on the video game franchise by the Naughty Dog. The series is set at a time when the pandemic hits the world and all the creatures turned into zombies due to a fatal fungal infection. The first part of the series follows the life of a smuggler who accompanies a teenager.

The series is comprised of 11 episodes and will stream on HBO. The new season promises to be just as thrilling, with a logline that reads, "Five years after the events of the first season, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

The season two cast includes returning stars Pascal and Ramsey, as well as newcomers Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Jeffrey Wright. Catherine O'Hara is also set to guest star.Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who developed the 'Last of Us' video game, are writers and executive producers of the series.
