While some have lauded her effort, others have criticized her casting in the role. However, seasoned actress Divya Dutta, who plays Rajmata Soyrabai Bhosale in the film, has come forward in support of Mandanna.

In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Dutta shut down the criticism, emphasizing Rashmika's consistent success in Bollywood. "Let’s not forget that she has delivered several hits, which clearly means she has something that resonates with the audience," she stated, dismissing the negativity surrounding Mandanna’s performance.

Dutta, despite not sharing screen space with Mandanna in Chhaava, acknowledged the Animal actress’ dedication and craft. She particularly praised Rashmika’s expressive eyes, stating that they added emotional depth to pivotal scenes in the film.
