Salman Khan (X/Salman Khan)
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently gave fans a rare glimpse into his time in prison while speaking on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s podcast, Dumb Biryani. The conversation covered various aspects of his personal and professional journey, marking Salman’s first-ever podcast appearance.
During the discussion, Salman spoke about the significance of discipline and perseverance in achieving success. He dismissed excuses like fatigue or lack of sleep, stating that pushing through hardships is essential. He shared, "'I am tired.' No, get up. No matter how tired you are. 'I don't get sleep.' Don't sleep. Do something; you'll automatically go to sleep. So I don't understand these things... I sleep for an hour and a half or two hours, and then someday, once a month, I sleep for seven hours." Salman recalled his time in jail, explaining how he adapted to the circumstances. "Some days, I'll get a five-minute break between shots, so I'll sleep on the chair. In places where I cannot do anything, like when I was in jail, I slept. I couldn't do anything about it... When it comes to your work or family, the effort that you have to keep on putting in... you just need to be there for friends and family and work," he added.
Salman’s imprisonment stemmed from the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case. In April 2006, he was sentenced to five years in jail and was lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail before securing bail. In 2018, a Jodhpur court sentenced him again in a related case, leading to another brief stint in prison before he was released on bail.
On the work front, Salman is set to headline Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release on Eid this year. Last year, Salman shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the sets of Sikandar, heightening excitement among his fans. Additionally, the actor is gearing up for Kick 2, adding to his list of upcoming blockbuster projects.
