Entertainment: Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has praised her husband, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, for his efforts in tackling the issue of overpriced food and beverages at airports. Her appreciation comes a month after Raghav raised the concern in Parliament, prompting the Civil Aviation Ministry to launch the Udaan Yatri Cafe initiative. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Parineeti lauded Raghav for "fixing a real problem," calling him "a true leader." Her statement coincides with the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on February 5.

Parineeti posted an edited video of Raghav’s Parliamentary speech on "food affordability" during the Winter Session. In his address, Raghav emphasized the exorbitant prices of basic items such as bottled water, tea, and snacks at airports, highlighting how travelers were forced to pay unjustified rates. He also celebrated the Udaan Yatri Cafe initiative, calling it a victory for the people.

"So so proud of you, my @raghav_chadha, for being a true leader for the people, and fixing a real problem!" Parineeti wrote. She further added, "Overpriced food at airports is an issue that resonates with so many Indians (including us), and your voice has brought a real change starting with the #UdaanYatriCafe. Raghav’s stand on overpriced airport food

In December, Raghav Chadha took a firm stance against the inflated prices of airport refreshments, questioning the necessity of such high costs. "A water bottle costs ₹100, and tea is priced at ₹200-250. Can't the government establish affordable canteens at airports?" he had asked in Parliament. His concerns struck a chord with travelers nationwide, many of whom had long complained about excessive pricing at airport kiosks.

Udaan Yatri cafe initiative

Responding to Raghav’s plea, the Civil Aviation Ministry introduced the Udaan Yatri Cafe, starting at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The initiative aims to provide travelers with affordable food and beverage options, including reasonably priced water bottles, tea, coffee, and snacks. The move is expected to roll out at other airports shortly, offering relief to millions of passengers.
