Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has been released from Tihar jail after spending six months there in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The Supreme Court granted him bail with certain conditions on April 2, and he walked out of jail on the evening of April 3.
Upon his release, many Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers warmly welcomed him. A video circulating on social media shows Sanjay Singh meeting Arvind Kejriwal's wife and seeking her blessings by touching her feet.

In his first reaction after leaving jail, Sanjay Singh expressed determination for a struggle rather than celebration. He emphasized the imprisonment of his party colleagues, including Arvind Kejriwal, and expressed confidence that they would be freed eventually.
Sanjay Singh reiterated the party's resilience, stating that the Aam Aadmi Party emerged from a movement and would not be intimidated. He highlighted the support of party members for Arvind Kejriwal amidst challenging times.
Addressing concerns about Kejriwal's resignation, Sanjay Singh assured that Kejriwal would continue working for the people of Delhi. He also clarified the process of letter-writing while in jail, emphasizing that he adhered to the jail manual during his incarceration.
Sanjay Singh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate from his government residence in Delhi on October 4, 2024, in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. After several hours of interrogation, he was detained in Tihar jail until his bail was granted by the Supreme Court.
